Charles J W Benson QC

I have recently been conducting the case of Regina v Marcus Thompson at Sheffield Crown Court which concerned an allegation of gangland murder involving a shooting of multiple targets in the area of 78, Brunswick Street, Broomhall in Sheffield. This was a high profile, and an extremely complicated and involved case. It was made more difficult by late disclosure and the fact that in the case of Marcus Thompson he was said to have been in the car used in and one of those involved in the shooting and later to have confessed to a 15 year old girl while in the process of burning the vehicle. The evidence in this case was, on its face, totally overwhelming and the timings and the various locations where the vehicle was observed appeared only to support one conclusion. It was against this factual backdrop that we received the carefully produced and intelligently presented files of maps and photographs which interacted with the prosecution case, depicted the factual matrix in an easy to follow pictorial way and permitted us to introduce the jury to the subtle details of case whilst avoiding the need for a site visit. The defence file produced by Forensic Photo was adopted by the Crown and complimented by the Judge, Wilkie J and it was a major contributing factor in the success that we had with the jury which led to the proper and unanimous acquittal of the defendant. Forensic Photo moved mountains to produce their excellent work at short notice and did not shrink from the tight deadlines imposed. They were at all times highly professional, conscientious and astute to the needs of the case and their work was of the very highest standard.

I am delighted to provide a testimonial about the work and service provided by Forensic Photo. The quality of their work is of an excellent standard, is always delivered in good time and is extremely clear and easy to understand.

I have used other companies in the past but, to be frank, the service provided and the quality of work produced by Forensic Photo is of a much higher standard and this is essential in Court.  If the Magistrates or the Judge have a clear understanding of the accident or incident scene / circumstances which is depicted by clear photographs and a sketch plan, then it certainly makes my job a lot easier when sometimes explaining difficult and factually complicated matters to the Magistrates or to the District Judge.

The quality of the reports produced is down to the fact that Forensic Photo are always prepared to take the time to understand exactly what we want, and they have the intelligence to grasp the issues in the case.  I do not have any hesitation in recommending Forensic Photo to anybody else as the quality of the reports provided by them are certainly impressive to the Court, to clients and to us.

I am very happy to give Forensic Photo a glowing reference for the work you did on the case of Rahman and Ali. The work was prepared to a very high standard and frankly in the 28 years I have been at the Bar I have never seen anything better. I have had experience of your work before when I have worked for Cunninghams solicitors and I actually recommended you to Michael Salts Solicitors. I know you have a new convert in them. As for the case itself the best word is the fact the prosecution dumped their own photos and your folder was adopted as the official court photos and became an exhibit in the case. Both myself and Mark Rhind were very impressed with the work Forensic Photo produced
