This Skysports programme shows the use of Motion Capture 3D data and is similar to how we can analyse movements and actions of people. They use state of the art equipment to study the movement of Ronaldo when he takes a freekick. The second video is a 3D laser scan of his body, to show muscle structure and strength as well as accurate measurements.
Laser scanning is a fairly new technology where objects are fully scanned with expensive laser technology and a full 3d model is made from the resulting scan. This all sounds good in practice but the equipment is extremely expensive and the process is time consuming. Forensic photo have the equipment to produce laser scanned model but we prefer the old fashioned techniques.
Forensic Photo know the power of image and how it can explain complex cases and scenes, we combine the traditional photography, mapping and planning techniques with new technology such as 3D reconstruction. But where did crime scene recreation begin?
One of our most requested services is Forensic Mapping. We have the ability to produce detailed scaled planning maps to show distances, routes and mark up speed. These maps can be on any scaled required, covering a large or small area. Our mapping can be in a drawn format or high resolution aerial photography. We then overlay graphics on the the maps to highlight key areas, sections and routes.
Our main service is to create and produce detailed printed Locus reports including all or some of our core services such as photography, 3D reconstruction, scaled plans and mapping. Our locus reports act as a tool to explain complex cases in a simplified graphical manner. The locus reports are printed in full colour and backed up with a DVD which contains the raw data. You can see more details on our locus reports in this video
