Whilst its safe to say the techniques used on CSI are not quite true to life! We are often asked if what we do is like CSI, and to a certain extent it is. We use real techniques to reconstruct similar scenes to the ones you see on CSI. Although the programme is a Holywood style production we feel the clip below is worth showing as it explains what Forensic photo can bring to a real life situation and our work has proven that it does work to help explain complex cases.

The Suspicions of Mr Whicher is a best selling novel and ITV drama about Constance Kent who confessed to a notorious child murder of her 3 year old half brother when she was sixteen years old in 1865. The case was solved by Scotland Yards Detective Jonathan Whicher. The case at the time was one of the first of its kind with a high profile murderer on trial and all over the news, as many were suspicious of the boys father including novelist Charles Dickens. This case was one of the first of its kind as a specialist detective was bought in to solve it.
